The EU AI Act's broadest enforcement wave takes effect on August 2, 2026, marking a [removed] milestone for general-purpose AI model providers. From this date, the European Commission and AI Office gain full enforcement powers under Chapter V of the AI Act to compel compliance with GPAI model obligations, including documentation requirements, training data summaries, and copyright policies.
