The EU Artificial Intelligence Act (Regulation 2024/1689) enters into force on August 2, 2026, marking the enforcement deadline for general-purpose AI (GPAI) model providers. From this date, the European Commission will have enforcement powers including the authority to impose fines up to €15 million or 3% of global turnover under Article 101 of the AI Act.
